His legacy
In Loving Memory of Steven Lynes
Steven, the oldest of five children, of Julie and Mike Lynes, was born in Rexburg, Idaho.  After Steven's parents finished school at BYU-Idaho they moved to Glenwood, Iowa.
Steven grew up in Glenwood, along with his brothers and sisters, Andrew, Jacob, Darci, and Emily.  He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Glenwood.
Steven was an athlete who enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and football and he played quarterback for the Glenwood Rams his sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school.  Steven loved music and played the guitar.  He was a disciplined student and while in high school, was in the National Honor Society.  He was attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah on an academic scholarship, and was in the Freshman Honor Society.
Steven shared a love of the outdoors with his family and was a member of the Glenwood Boy Scout Troop 229, where he earned his Eagle Scout Badge in 2004.
Steven enjoyed working with film and worked on several short student films, the last of which was submitted to the BYU Film Festival in 2005.  Steven was also an avid video game player and was named the 2005 Halo Grand Champion at BYU.
While attending BYU, Steven was injured during a football game outside his dormitory, Steven was taken to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Steven was preceded in dealth by his grandfatherBobby Jack Lynes and cousin Stephanie Lynes.  He is survived by his parents, Julie and Mike Lynes and his brothers and sisters Andrew, Jacob, Darci, and Emily all of Glenwood Iowa; and grandmother Shirley Lynes of South Carolina; and grandparents Joyce and Ray Jankiewicz of Glenwood, Iowa; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.  WE LOVE AND MISS YOU STEVEN!
